History of La Cistérniga
La Cistérniga, located in the province of Valladolid, boasts a rich history dating back to the Copper Age with archaeological findings at the Cerro de La Calderona. During antiquity, it was under the dominion of the Vacceos, a Celtiberian group, until it was conquered by Hannibal in the 3rd century BC. Its origins are linked to significant communication routes, such as the Royal Route of Soria and the Roman road from Valladolid to Tudela de Duero.
